A Tour Ten Years In The Making

August, 2000-

A group of high school musicians gather in the living room of the Allison household. The first ever rehearsal of the SOGO Brass Choir.

Fast forward ten years

July 10, 2010-

A totally new group of musicians, high schoolers, college students and adults, gather in the living room of the Allison household. Everyone in this group has either been in the Brass Choir at one point over the last ten years, or has been a coach on the SOGO staff.

This is the group that will be touring in Italy for ten days starting July 14th. A plan, hatched two years ago by Greg Allison, will now finally be a reality in a few short days. For Greg Allison and many who are going on the tour, this will be a lifelong dream come true. To travel down the canals of Venice, to visit the birthplace of Dante and Michelangelo in Florence, to see the ancient Colosseum in Rome, to experience the Duomo in person in Milan, AND to play music in extraordinary venues all the while? Opportunities like that rarely occur in one's lifetime. Maybe only once.

So, with two rehearsals under our belt, the SOGO Italy Brass Choir is ready for the Bon Voyage Concert, Monday at 7pm in the First Christian Church Sanctuary in downtown Olympia.

Come check us out!
